Our Readers- are all licensed by the Bishop of Derby to lead services, preach and conduct funerals when necessary

Liz Thomas worked as a head teacher in Chesterfield before retirement. As a reader in the team she shares pastoral responsibility for Alderwasley with the Rector, and is very much involved in school assemblies.

Bernice Smith has a background in human resources management, and runs the Christian bookshop in Matlock.

Brian Smith is an engineer by profession and since retirement has learnt to fly microlights! Apart from taking services he acts as fabric advisor to the team.

Rod Prince has recently been licensed as a reader. He lives in Brassington and works in the animal feed industry. He is keen to help us develop our communication and marketing skills.
