The Team Rector
Canon David Truby was ordained in Liverpool in 1982 and has been in the Diocese of Derby since 1990. He has served as Rector of Brimington and Canon Pastor at Derby Cathedral before coming to the team as Rector in 2003. He has pastoral responsibility for Wirksworth, Middleton, Brassington and Bradbourne. He has been Rural Dean for Wirksworth since November 2008.

Brian Smith is an engineer by profession and since retirement has learnt to fly microlights! Apart from taking services he acts as fabric advisor to the team.
The Team Vicar
Revd Kara Werner joined the Wirksworth Team in September of 2010. She had previously worked in London as a curate, Melksham in Wiltshire as part of the team ministry there, and most recently as the School Chaplain at Canford School in Dorset. She has also taught ethics as part of a contnuing ministerial development course. Kara has pastoral charge of Idridgehay, Kirk Ireton and Carsington.

Liz Thomas worked as a head teacher in Chesterfield before retirement. As a reader in the team she shares pastoral responsibility for Alderwasley with the Rector, and is very much involved in school assemblies.

Rod Prince lives in Brassington and works in the animal feed industry. He is keen to help us develop our communication and marketing skills.
The Team Curate
Revd Andrew Taylor-Cook was ordained in June 2008. Before joining the Wirksworth Team, Andrew worked in the diocese of St Edmundsbury and Ipswich, where he worked as the Diocesan Chaplain amongst Deaf People and as a Parish Evangelist in the parish of: Rushmere St Andrew. He is in his second ministerial post and has pastoral responsibility for Elton and Bonsall.
